More Than Soap: Community, Connection, and Customer Favorites at Our Recent Pop-Up Event
Our recent pop-up event was more than an opportunity to showcase HumbleGlow Collections—it was a reminder of why I started this journey in the first place.
As a nurse and the founder of HumbleGlow Collections, I created this brand to offer thoughtfully formulated skincare for dry, sensitive, dull, and uneven-looking skin. While online orders are wonderful, there is something special about meeting customers in person, hearing their stories, and watching them experience the products firsthand.
This event was especially meaningful because it was part of a fundraiser benefiting Connecticut Children’s through participating vendor fees. It was inspiring to see local businesses, families, and community members come together to support a great cause while shopping small and supporting local makers.
One of the highlights of the day was our wash station. Several customers stopped by, tried our soaps, and immediately chose a bar to take home. No lengthy explanations or sales pitch—just the opportunity to experience the products for themselves.
Our customer favorites of the day were Pure Comfort, our fragrance-free bar designed for sensitive skin, Quiet Presence, its lightly scented counterpart, and our nourishing Lip Balm.
One customer purchased three lip balms to take advantage of our bundle savings. About an hour later, she returned to our booth with a smile and said, “I want you to know my lip balm is still on my lips.” Moments like that are incredibly rewarding because they reflect the real-life experiences that inspire every product we create.
The event also reminded me that HumbleGlow Collections is about more than skincare.
I had the privilege of meeting fellow nurses who stopped by to support a nurse-owned business. A thoughtful couple purchased a self-care gift bundle for a nurse who is preparing for her upcoming wedding. Another guest expressed interest in our custom wedding favors and event souvenirs, opening the door to new ways we can help make special occasions even more meaningful.
As a formulator, I noticed something else.
Temperatures climbed into the 90s that day. While most visitors were focused on finding products they loved, I found myself quietly observing how our formulations performed throughout the event. Our Lip Balms, Skin Rescue Sticks, and Body Crème remained stable and held their shape beautifully despite the summer heat. These small details may go unnoticed by most customers, but they represent countless hours of research, testing, refining, and careful ingredient selection.
Every HumbleGlow Collections product is crafted with intention using USDA-certified plant-based oils, raw unrefined butters, and thoughtfully selected ingredients. Our goal has never been to create products that simply look beautiful on a shelf. We strive to create products that people genuinely enjoy using and can feel confident incorporating into their daily routines.
Most importantly, this event reminded me that HumbleGlow Collections is built on connection.
Connection to our customers.
Connection to our community.
Connection to the belief that self-care can be simple, intentional, and meaningful.
To everyone who stopped by our booth, shared a kind word, tested a product, made a purchase, or supported the event—thank you.
Your support allows this nursecrafted dream to continue growing, one meaningful connection at a time.
